Some government programs require more identity details. In those cases we share only what the agency requests, with your consent.

Questions about privacy

Do you use facial recognition and biometrics?

Yes. We use face matching to verify you against your ID photo and catch duplicate wallets and fraud. Read our biometric policy.

Can I close my wallet?

Yes. If you choose to, your wallet and its credentials will be deactivated. Learn more about our data retention policies.

When do you share information with government agencies?

Governments don’t get direct, unfettered access to user data or our encryption keys. Additional information requires a subpoena, warrant, or other legal process. If we reasonably believe an account is involved in fraud, we may share limited information with the relevant agency.

What do I do if something looks suspicious with my IDMe Wallet?

Read what to do if you suspect a scam or hacking and report any suspicious activity.

Make sure to set strong, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for any wallet you own that contains sensitive information or financial details.
